If you have a general astrological question or an idea for an article, please get in touch. It may stimulate me to write something. But no promises.

There are a few caveats as follows:

· Requests for interpretations of living people’s charts. This follows what is known in the United States as the ‘Goldwater Rule’. Here’s a statement of the rule which appeared in the first edition of the American Psychiatric Association’s (APA) Principles of Medical Ethics in 1973.

“On occasion psychiatrists are asked for an opinion about an individual who is in the light of public attention or who has disclosed information about himself/herself through public media. In such circumstances, a psychiatrist may share with the public his or her expertise about psychiatric issues in general. However, it is unethical for a psychiatrist to offer a professional opinion unless he or she has conducted an examination and has been granted proper authorization for such a statement.”

In my opinion this rule also applies to astrologers. So, no chart analyses of living Presidents, Prime Ministers or other world leaders. (Kim Jong Un has got the right idea, he keeps his birth data secret!)

Charts of nations, political parties or other geo-political organisations. This is a heavy area and I’m not comfortable going public with my insights and opinions. As astrologers we have our own political biases which can interfere with the whole process of astrological perception. I am however fascinated by broad cultural trends and technological developments.

· I do not write about finance nor give financial advice for the following reasons. Firstly, I do not risk my own money (such as I have) in the financial markets so why should I advise people to do what I do not do myself? Secondly, using astrology for personal gain in this way is fraught with karmic considerations. Thirdly and maybe most importantly, I’m neither licensed nor qualified to do so.

But having said all that, I look forward to receiving your comments and suggestions for things to write about.

Go well,
Ben
