Moonletter November 2021

By Ben Belinsky

Welcome to the Moonletter for the forthcoming mooncycle beginning on 4 November 2021 with the new moon in Scorpio, and spanning the full moon in Taurus on 19 November 2021.

New Moon in Scorpio – 4 November

At the new moon on 4 November the Sun and moon in Scorpio are picking an exact opposition from Uranus in Taurus – ‘exact’ meaning 7 minutes of arc. This is an opportunity for change. Not only in our personal lives but in the bigger picture. The discussions about the environment at COP26 will have repercussions on the world of finance and business. Uranus is in Taurus, the sign that deals both with agriculture and love of the earth, and with money as a store of value. The possibility for change is there.

Stubbornness and intransigence are there as well. Mars in Scorpio is approaching a square with Saturn in Aquarius. In Scorpio Mars prefers to work behind the scenes and the drama will be between the decisiveness and action orientation of Mars and the traditional thinking of Saturn in Aquarius with its preference for the status quo.

Another significant factor is the centaur Nessus in Pisces in an exact trine to the Sun and Moon. Nessus’ game can go one of two ways. It can either lie and cheat and poison the proceedings or it can act like a scam-buster, exposing the liars and cheats for what they are.

Full Moon in Taurus – Lunar Eclipse – 19 November

The full moon in Taurus is a lunar eclipse. The earth’s shadow is projected on the moon, turning it blood red. The earth’s shadow in this instance represents the dark side of humanity – what emerges from the unconscious when we can no longer suppress or ignore it. The moon will be close to the cusp of Taurus and Gemini. The karmic journey is to leave behind the angst and analytical intensity of the sun at the end of Scorpio which won’t help us deal with the issues we are facing and move instead towards a lighter ‘what if?’ way of looking at things, a creative search for future possibilities.

Sure, the tension is there, particularly with the T-square of Jupiter to the eclipse adding pressure to the proceedings. Finding a way to reduce the pressure will help to find a way forward. By accepting and relaxing into whatever situation needs sorting out.

Also at the full moon, there is an opposition between Mars the action planet and Uranus the innovator and disruptor. There are many ways this could manifest: electrical/electronic problems, more street demonstrations, financial markets throwing wobblies. Where Uranus is involved, things can be a bit unpredictable. In general with Uranus aspects, it’s not a good idea to resist the changes, they may be necessary.

Go well and stay well
